My oncologist recommended a Mediterranean diet and no corn oil. This is perfect for us, because we love all of these foods. He also said, "No supplements or mega doses of vitamins. No wheat grass, no fish oil supplements or antioxidants, etc." Just organic, whole, real foods. He says the supplements and antioxidants can actually work too well, diminishing the effect of the chemo. "The chemotherapy is supposed to create oxidative stress on the body to do what it needs to do-- obliterate the cancer and get rid of any rogue cells that might be circulating in the blood and lymph system."
Thanks for considering; we thought we'd start with 3 evenings a week--Tuesdays when I work in clinic, then Thursdays and Fridays because I don't know how I'll feel after chemotherapy.
