Monday morning, Tim and I woke early and headed off to Mayo Clinic. Beautiful warm morning, sunrise shrouded in clouds. After only 2 1/2 treatments with chemo (AMG386, Taxol and Herceptin), I was following the research criteria to have another high resolution MRI and a core biopsy of the tumor. We weren't expecting much. The MRI was first, then lunch on the mall and Tim met with a friend while I had my biopsy. After the biopsy, the research nurse met me to give me a copy of the MRI report. She said, "It's working." The tumor mass has already decreased in size by 80%--only 20% left. Wow! Very encouraging. Now the prayer will be for my body to tolerate the medications this Thursday morning. I hope to be able to continue with the clinical trial.
It really is working. My hair is starting to fall out, so I will only keep my short "do" as long as I can stand it. Then I will be wearing lots of hats and scarves. I don't know if I'm a wig kind of person. We shall see...Thanks for the continued support. The prayers, thoughts, and beautiful meals and gifts are meaningful and comforting. Really, I feel very loved. We are Blessed.
